'Fast and Furious' actor Paul Walker dies in car crash aged 40

Actor Paul Walker, best known for his role as Brian O'Conner in the popular "Fast & Furious" movies, died after a car accident in Southern California Saturday. He was 40 years old.
A representative for the actor confirmed his death in an e-mail to Fox News Saturday evening.

Michael Jackson estate to Conrad Murray -- shut up!


Michael Jackson's estate is ordering Conrad Murray to stop discussing his treatment of the King of Pop, says the New York Daily News.
Estate lawyer Howard Weitzman dispatched a cease-and-desist letter to Murray, complaining that the physician "shamefully" violated doctor-patient confidentially law when he recently discussed Jackson's health in his first interviews since leaving prison.

Berlusconi lawyers deny 'bunga bunga' payoff

An Italian court accused ex-Premier Silvio Berlusconi and his lawyers on Friday of tampering with evidence by paying off witnesses in a trial related to his notorious "bunga bunga" parties.
It sent its documentation to prosecutors to investigate the possible corruption of a judicial process. Berlusconi's lawyers immediately rejected the accusation and said they expected prosecutors would drop the case.

Police fire tear gas at protesters trying to storm government HQ in Bangkok

BANGKOK - Riot police fired tear gas at protesters trying to force their way into the prime minister's office compound and Bangkok's police headquarters on Sunday.
Reporters saw anti-government protesters trying to rip down concrete barriers outside the Government House on Sunday. Police fired tear gas and water cannons to push them back.

US asks commercial airlines to respect China’s defence zone

The United States is now asking its commercial airlines to adhere to China’s new air defence zone after challenging the new zone with military flights along with its allies Japan and South Korea.
In a report on Saturday, The New York Times said while the United States continued to defy China by sending military planes into the zone unannounced, administration officials said they had made the decision to urge civilian planes to adhere to Beijing’s new rules in part because they worried about an unintended confrontation.

Jonathan: ASUU Strike Is Now Subversive Action

As the strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) continues, President Goodluck Jonathan has described the teachers’ action as subversive and no longer a strike.
ASUU has refused to call off its over five-months old strike despite the intervention of the president in a marathon meeting held recently at the Presidential Villa, lasting about 13 hours.
